Research notes and sources
Contemporary publisher solicitation credits David Birdsong for the cover and Benjamin Hobbs for art/cover; these differ from the interior Dave Sim/Gustave Doré credits. Cerebus replaces the Surfer. A larger publisher press image was located and retained with all parody trade dress. Listed on galko's League of Comic Geeks list 'Cover Homage: Silver Surfer #1'.
